For me its hard to believe that I've been gone from home for over a month. Its been an amazing, fun-filled month, but I am so glad to be home. The entire trip was filled with dear family and friends, fun events, delicious food, and wonderfully warm weather. Seeing our family was such a blessing to us and I'm sure it was to them as well. We also had a splendid time with our dear friends the Martinez family and they did a fantastic job being our host for the weekends. Between endless rounds of ping-pong, reflecting on past memories, laughing, and just hanging out, it was a time that will not be forgotten easily. Thanks for putting up with us y'all. :)
We left our house the 19th at around 3:30am and were able to make it into Dallas to stay with our friends, the
Blanchards. We had a lovely evening visiting with them and together were able to go to Cabelas. After we said our "good-byes" the next morning, we headed even more down South to Corpus Christi-Pictures of all this a few scrolls down! :)
We'll just have to see where and how these "parts" come into place, I'm doing this as I go so please bear with me! Now, I'll leave you to enjoy the pictures! :)

Our faithful GPS leads us and we follow its every order. Although the whole "Off route!!" thing does get to you eventually.

You leave your camera to your younger siblings and this is the result-would this be considered a mirror picture?

I absolutely love the sky. But when there is sunshine pouring through the clouds, its extra beautiful.

One look and you may consider this to be a shot of Bass Pro Shop, but no, this is Cabelas. What a fun place!

Elita looks way too relaxed-doesn't she realize there are lions behind her?!

I enjoy looking at exhibits and pictures of Africa, but I don't think I'll be visiting there in the near future.

Little Joshua thinks the exhibits are pretty cool too. :)

We're in Texas, why do we have so many coats and sweaters??

The first night in Corpus the Martinez's fixed us up a delicious meal consisting of burgers, potato salad, and homemade chocolate milkshakes. Now that's what I call a good meal!

Mmm, looks delicious!!

Nothing bad with getting a little sun, great source of Vitamin D!

Hannah showing me her new trick that she learned on the scooter-you go girl!

While us girls rode in the Saturn and had the sun roof open, music on, windows down, we passed by this lush field of green grass that I thought looked like a 'Lil piece of Heaven. We stopped and took some pictures but only later did I come to find out that that "Lil piece of Heaven" was a field of wheat. Ooops? :)

Grandpa and Hannah became two peas in a pod by the time our trip was over, don't their smiles just say it all?

Ah look, monkey see monkey do. :)

Grandma showing Hannah how to roll out the homemade tortillas...

They look delicious!

While we were visiting Texas there was a celebration called "Carro Days". Yeah, you gotta roll the "R's"! ;) Anyways, its a big tradition down there so we were able to go and enjoy the parade and all the excitement that went along with it!

Now if this isn't cute, I don't know what is.

The police officer riding in
style!

So while the Mom of these boys were getting the youngest one ready, the boy of the left asked "Um, do we have to pay?". I smiled and assured them that I was a free photographer. :)

Lenna smiles for the camera as she waits for the parade to begin.

The guy in green with the funny hat is pretty popular down South so while everyone gathered round to take his picture I passed by and took a shot myself.

And the parade begins!

The popular thing in these kinds of parades are the younger ones dancing. They were amazing and very talented for kids their age-it was lots of fun to watch!

Lots of kids, lots and lots of colors.

Swishing of dresses and bright Spring colors makes everything all the more beautiful.

They march in time and dance in time-hey! Its a band!

Ta dah!! :)

Check back for part 2-Saturday and Sunday events!

so fun! I love road trips! :D
Charro Days reminds me of The Whole Enchilada festival that we used to go to when I lived in New Mexico. That was really fun! One year I think we even dressed up like cowgirls.
Can't wait to see the rest!
Sounds like you had a really great trip... a very full trip! Wow.... gone from home for a whole month?? I don't think I could do that!
We live a little over 1/2 an hour from Cabelas - very neat place and we all really like going there. I must admit that looking at pistols and all the accessories that go with it does a get a little boring for me sometimes, but they do have some nice stuff there!
That picture of you girls tanning is so fun. Can't wait till I can do that here! Not too much longer!! If I did it now though, I'd be a muddy, soggy mess, and not really any tanner!
Ooooh, I love all those twirling skirts form the parade - so fun! Me thinks I need one of those! :-)
See you in a week and a half!!! Yippee!!!
Looks like you had a ton of fun! I wish I could be away for a month. I love traveling. :)

Say hi to everyone for me. :)

How did I miss this post? Well, here I am and it looks like you had a fab-u-lous time! Those homemade tortillas look really good. We've tried making them before but they always break.
Hey, they have cool police officers down there! :-)
Love the sky photo! And I love your new blog background - just my type!
Ya'll are coming up for Liberty Day? Right?
Amanda, I love cowgirls! Though if I were to dress up as one, my style would be more like a summer dress and cowgirl boots. :) Good! I'll have it up soon!
Tara, Yes, we had a lovely trip, though I was very much glad to be home. :) That's cool, I wish we lived close to one-though in some ways I don't because then I know where I would spend all my money! ;) YES!! I can't wait to see you! And I'll be sure to bring your brown cloak. :) *hugs*
Brooke, Thanks! Yes, I love traveling too. Eventually I would like to go out of country. :) Well hey, it looked like you girls had fun on the snow! :)
Kathryn, Yeah, my Grandma down there makes the best tortillas *ever*! Well thank you! I was getting a little tired of the other one so when I saw this I was like-that's the one!! :) YES! See you this weekend! :D
